Back Mount: Half Guard Transition and Details

Home » Back Mount » Transition

Here Brent Littel from 10th Planet HQ demonstrates a Half Guard pass transition to the Back. He goes over so many details that are important when it comes to back control. The details are super important in order to make your technique tight.

Many of the details Brett explains are fundamentally different from the way people control their opponent when wearing a gi. Instead of using an Over/Under control from the back many gi players use a double under control because they have the lapel to grip onto. The double under grip is less effective in no-gi grappling.

Brett also teaches that you want to be on the Over side of your opponent. This will lead right into the RNC plus if you're on the under side you can easily lose control of your opponent.
