Butterfly Guard: Timber!

From the Butterfly Guard I start with the Modified Cocoon Control. Basically I have a wrestling collar tie for control of his upper body.

From this position you will have a lot of control of your opponents upper body. From the collar tie you can hit the sweeps that Eddie Bravo shows in Mastering the Rubber Guard and you have this sweep if the person tries to power up to their feet.

With a nice tight collar tie and your feet firmly planted on your opponents hips they just about sweeps themselves.

Timber!

Jason Mallory has Bence Beretcz in his B-fly Guard with a Modified Cocoon Control. Jason's right hand is controlling Bence's neck, his left hand is gripping Bence's tricep and Jason is pinching his left elbow to his side to trap Bence's right arm.

Timber!

Next you unhook your Butterfly hooks and post your feet on your opponents hips while maintaining a tight collar tie.

Timber!

If your opponent tries to power up to their feet keep your feet firmly on their hips and hold the collar tie real tight. As they stand up your back will go to the mat. Use their momentum to...

Timber!

Drive your feet and their hips upward taking their feet off the floor. As you do this your opponents whole body will go up and over your head. Someone watching might even say "Timber!" as they go down and...

Timber!

You land on top in the Mount. As I land in the Mount you can see that I still have the collar tie. My left arm is still controlling the tricep and my right hand is still at the neck.

Once you land you can switch your grips to gain better control your opponent.
