Full Guard: Handcuff Triangle

The first thing you want to do from the Full Guard is break your opponent's posture down. The way that I did it in the technique below is to sit up, lock a Gable Grip behind his neck and pull him down.

Once I have my opponent broken down I use what I call the Cobra Control to hold him in place. You have an overhook on one of your opponents arms and the other arm is at his neck holding him down. It kind of looks like a cobra's head with the hood so that's where the name came from.

The Cobra Control is both a defensive and offensive position.

The Handcuff Triangle is a technique that I developed when I was training at Eddie Bravo's 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu in Hollywood CA.

! This just came in ! Seems there are other people out there thinking the way that I do. You can check out a video of the technique being done by going to the link below.

I like the way that they control the wrist once you have your opponent handcuffed, it gives you a much stronger grip. They also add a really cool sweep that I never thought of.
