Leg Locks: X-Guard to 50/50

The so called "50/50 guard" is actually a Sambo lower half submission fighting position. You can find a great source to learn about it and lower body positional fighting in general by Clicking Here !

In this video Ryan Hall demonstrates a slick transition from the X-Guard to the 50/50 position. If you are not familiar with the position then you need to learn it A.S.A.P.

Ryan starts off from the X-Guard but instead of putting his opponent's leg on his shoulder he swims his arm through so that his opponent's leg is under his armpit. Before he does that his legs go from the X position to the 50/50. Next he sweeps them to the mat and lands in the position.

Once his opponent is on the mat he is in serious danger of having the miniscus torn in his knee. If you don't know you are in danger here you will get your knee popped. The crazy thing is that it is possible to break the knee with hip movement alone.
