Thanks for your kind words Jason. It's funny you mention the Half Guard version of this sweep. The same instructor (John Carlquist) demonstrates the half guard variation on a later episode of Taking It To The MMAT (the show from which I took these clips).
Man, I'd love to hear about the ways the guys at your gym counter this sweep. If you were so inclined, you could tape some counters or follow up variations and we could see about incorporating them into our show.

Hey Brian,
Thanks for the submission. This is a very nice sweep.
At 10th Planet Hollywood we would do the same sweep with the leg trapped in the half guard. We called it the 'Mechanic.'
Never thought to keep going for it if they get the leg free to side control. Will have to work this the next time I'm in the gym.
