The Back Mount

Back-Mount

Home » Back Mount

Back control is the most dominate position to get in my opinion. If you are competing in submission fighting you are usually awarded a high number of points plus you are in a position to end the fight.

For MMA you have great control of your opponent. You can go for a submission or sock em in the head. All this plus there is very little that your opponent can do offensively. You just have to remain aware of your feet and arms so that you do not get caught in a foot or arm lock.

Getting to this position takes a lot of skill. It takes just as much skill to finish from this position when your opponent has good defense.

The Sleeper ( Mate Leon, RNC ) is a favorite submission of such greats as Rickson Gracie and Marcelo Garcia.

Check out the techniques and transitions below and train hard !
