Leg Locks: Mini Leg Lock Clinic
This mini clinic is brought to you by Catch Wrestler, Kris Iatskevich of the Quebec To Hold Club.
There is a ton of awesome stuff in this vid. First off there is a really nasty toe hold from Side Mount when the person uses their shin to create space so they can get to half or full guard. You simply go shin on shin, grab the toe and lift. The knee on the shin would be considered a 'Rip' or 'pain compliance' which is an aspect of Catch Wrestling.
You may or may not get the submission there depending on how aware and good your opponent's movement is.
Kris then goes over a transition from the same position that allows you to get to an Inside Triangle on the leg which is a very solid position for lower half submission fighting. Getting to the Inside Triangle and being able to maintain it is the key. This is more of a Sambo technique.
After that Kris shows another transition to a submission for when your opponent defends the first position.
Then he shows how to transition to a knee bar. There is a really nice detail where Kris demonstrates how you can turn your opponent's foot to finalize the position for the knee bar.
Lots of great details in this one !
